DIRECTIONS.
From the south:- M6 junction 36. Take the 3rd turning off the roundabout onto A65 Kirkby Lonsdale. 100yds take 1st left off roundabout to Crooklands. Turn left directly opposite the Crooklands Hotel, onto the B6385 where you will find the Showground.
From the North:- M6 junction 36. Take the 1st turning left onto A65 then follow the above direction
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- The committee will not be responsible for or liable for any loss or damage sustained by the exhibitors, riders or their horses or ponies and all entries are accepted on this basis.
- The organiser reserves the right to cancel or amalgamate any classes if there are insufficient entries.
- Entries will not be accepted without the appropriate fee and must reach the secretary on or before 16th May 202. LATE ENTRIES DOUBLE FEE(Less the levy).
- Except for the RIHS qualifying classes you do not need to be a member of the BSPS.
- The organisers have tried to ensure that classes do not clash, however, it is the responsibility of the competitors to ensure they can compete in the classes entered.
- The committee will have the power to judge any dispute that may arise, their decision will be final. Any objection to the result of any class must be made in writing to the secretary within 30minutes of the completion of the class. A deposit of £5.00, returnable if the objection is sustained must accompany the objection.
- All entry fees are non-returnable. Prize money will be paid on the day. No substitutions will be allowed. RI Classes £15, 10, 5 all other classes £5, £4, £2
- This show is a qualifier for the RIHS. Only 1 pony in each of the Open Ridden Show Pony, L/R SHP, Open SHP, Pretty Polly SP,SHP, & Heritage ridden., Intermediate show hunter, show riding type, Nursery Stakes, Open WHP & Intermediate WH, Heritage ridden and L/R & F/R classes qualify Anglo and part bred Arab. The highest placed (not already qualified) from the first three ponies placed in each class will qualify. Owners & riders must be BSPS members and the pony registered with the BSPS to compete in these classes. All qualifying entries for the RIHS must be delivered or sent on or before the closing date, together with the amount of entry fee and charges required. Late entries will only be accepted from qualifiers at those show’s which are held after the closing date of entry.
- This show is affiliated to the BSPS (no:397 ) and all persons competing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes whether or not members of the BSPS are subject to the constitution and rules of the BSPS including disciplinary procedures, and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS. Any pony taking part in classes judged under BSPS rules will be liable to dope testing.
- This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Championship Show held at the Arena UK. All ponies must be registered in accordance with rule 21 & 26 and ridden by a BSPS member to qualify.
- Only horses and ponies competing in the current and following classes will be allowed in the collecting rings at any time.
- BSPS CLASSES WILL BE REQUIRED TO ADHERE TO RULES43 & 50 IN THE 2024 BSPS RULEBOOK WITH REGARD TOHAT TAGGING & BODY PROTECTORS.
- The RIHS levy is £11 per entry. Owners & riders must be BSPS members & the
Pony registered with the BSPS to compete in classes with qualification for the RIHS. Animals to be registered with AHS for classes 38 & 39.

CHAMPIONSHIP 1ST & 2ND in classes 57 - 60
1st prize winners qualify for the BSPS “Binks family Champion of Champions.
RIDING HORSE, COBS & HACKS
Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the
Association and all Owners, Exhibitors and Riders must be Association Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form.
Classes 62-63, 65-67, 69-70) are qualifiers for The Royal International Horse Show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward.
Horses competing at the RIHS and qualifying shows in Hunter sections of The Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show, on the same day and vice versa. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden Sport Horse classes.
The highest placed unqualified prize winners in all Open Affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Supreme of the year final. The Finals will be held at the BSHA Hunter & National Championship Show September 2023.
The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section. The awards will go down the line; there is no limit on how many of these rosettes can be claimed in a year.
DAY TICKETS
Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per Exhibitor, per Horse, per rider, per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Novice, Amateur, Young Rider, Home Produced, Working , Inhand and Open Affiliated classes only, but will not allow entry into RIHS or HOYS qualifying classes. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form from the BSHA website.
